Following India's triumph at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in Barbados, Rohit Sharma reminisced about key moments, particularly Virat Kohli's resilient half-century and his pivotal partnership with Axar Patel against South Africa.

"Starting strong with three boundaries in the first over is ideal," Rohit stated, emphasizing the importance of a confident start in high-pressure situations. "It's what every cricketer aims for—it helps calm the nerves."
Rohit emphasized that Kohli's composure under pressure was a testament to his extensive experience playing for India.
"Years of experience playing for India are invaluable in such moments," he explained. "You develop the ability to manage emotions, control thoughts, and remain present. I believe even Virat was thinking, 'This is my day—I must stay focused and not dwell on the past.'"
Kohli delivered a match-defining 76, stabilizing India's innings and forming a critical partnership with Axar Patel after an early loss of wickets.
"The dressing room was tense after those three early wickets. I was uncomfortable and panicking," Rohit confessed.
"I thought we had given them an opening. However, I maintained faith in our lower middle order—positions 5 through 8. They hadn't had much opportunity to bat in the tournament, but they capitalized whenever they did."
Rohit specifically praised Axar Patel's game-changing innings of 47 off 31 balls. "Axar's knock is underrated, but it truly shifted the game," he noted. "Scoring 47 off 31 balls at that juncture was incredibly vital."
The Indian captain commended Kohli for his anchoring role, which allowed the rest of the batting lineup to play with freedom.

"We needed someone to bat through the innings, and Virat fulfilled that role perfectly. His anchoring was crucial, allowing Shivam, Axar, and Hardik to play their roles freely—which they did effectively."
The final at Kensington Oval, which marked a perfect T20 international farewell for both Rohit and Kohli, will be remembered for composure, experience, and teamwork. At the center of it all was Virat Kohli, delivering when India needed him most.
