Smriti Mandhana, the dynamic batter for Team India, achieved a remarkable milestone on Saturday, becoming the first Indian woman cricketer to score centuries in all three international formats: Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
Smriti Mandhana celebrates her record-breaking century.
The historic moment occurred during the first T20I match between India Women and England Women at Trent Bridge. Mandhana delivered a breathtaking performance, scoring 112 runs off just 62 balls.
Leading the team as captain, Mandhana showcased her dominance with a brilliant innings that included 15 fours and three impressive sixes. Her aggressive yet composed approach propelled India to a formidable total of 210/5 in 20 overs – their highest-ever T20I score against England.
This century was also Mandhana's first in T20Is, completing a rare achievement that had previously eluded all other Indian women batters. Her century set an aggressive tone from the start, blending elegance with power, and effectively neutralizing England's leading spinners such as Sophie Ecclestone with fearless strokeplay.
The innings also featured valuable contributions from Harleen Deol (43 off 23) and Deepti Sharma (7 not out off 3), with India maintaining a strong run rate throughout the match. Lauren Bell was the most successful of England’s bowlers, taking three wickets, but the damage was already done.
Mandhana's achievement places her among a select group of cricketers, both male and female, who have scored centuries in all three formats of the game. Her milestone is a defining moment not only for her career but also for Indian women’s cricket, inspiring a new generation of cricketers to dream big and overcome challenges.
With this commanding performance, Mandhana has reaffirmed her position as a leading figure in Indian women’s cricket – consistent, fearless, and record-breaking.
